COLUMBUS, Ohio — Completing our series examining Ohio State football’s first-half performance and whether it is trending towards national championship caliber. Whether pass offense, the ground attack or stopping the run, those units all look up to playoff standards. But what about the secondary? Buckeye coaches from Ryan Day on down cannot hide their feelings about the plight of their cornerback play. The exasperation is evident in the tone of their voice and body language whenever the question comes up. The source of that irritation is not the play of Denzel Burke and Cam Brown, really, although both have been injured and inconsistent.
