Act I: A sheepish group of offensive linemen sat quietly in a semicircle of chairs near midfield, their egos momentarily bruised by what happened on the last offensive snap. Quarterback C.J. Stroud had fumbled when a beautiful twist by Iowa sprung linebacker Joe Evans for a free run at the Heisman Trophy favorite. Evans flung himself at Stroud for a hit that forced a fumble; then he scooped up the loose ball and scampered 11 yards for a score.
