
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football’s offense struggled through the first half of its game against Iowa, but its defense did its part to make that not matter by causing multiple turnovers. That started with an interception by Tanner McCalister, followed by a strip sack from Zach Harrison. Then Tommy Eichenberg got in on the fun with his first career defensive touchdown on a pick-six to give the Buckeyes a 26-10 lead. OSU’s leading tackle has had a breakout season as its starting middle linebacker, and that continued against the Hawkeyes. He recorded four tackles, a tackle for loss and a pass breakup before adding the interception to his first-half statistics. Eichenberg continued what was a quality first half for Ohio State’s defense, even if the opponent’s offense was anything but quality.
