Jaylen Heyward, a 2024 4-star safety, puts OSU in top 6: Buckeyes Recruiting


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Jaylen Heyward wants to be developed. Physically, mentally and all around, he wants to be the best version of himself at the collegiate level. The four-star safety out of Rockledge High School in Florida trimmed his top 12 college choices to a top six on Friday. The list includes Ohio State, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Michigan and Florida, a group of schools touting a combined 41 players selected in the 2022 NFL Draft, including 15 from Georgia. It’s no wonder those programs are the only ones left standing in his recruitment. Ohio State, and specifically main recruiter Perry Eliano, has caught the eye of Heyward from Eliano’s days with Cincinnati and his development of New York Jets first-round draft pick Sauce Gardner. That path was one that was achieved in a smaller conference setting, so Heyward is imagining what he can do at a program like Ohio State.…
