
The highly anticipated Michigan-Ohio State football game is still a few weeks away, but some of the trash talk already has started. However, it’s not the players on either team who fired the most recent salvo. That honor belongs to newly-hired Michigan president Santa Ono. During their 21-7 victory Saturday vs. Northwestern, Ohio State’s offense struggled due to the sluggish weather conditions in Illinois. The rain and wind — including gusts of up to 49 mph — affected the Buckeyes’ passing attack from the start. Quarterback CJ Stroud finished the game with only 10 completions and a career-low 76 passing yards. Ohio State finished the game with only 283 yards of total offense. The Buckeyes entered the game No. 2 in the initial College Football Playoff rankings. Some national media surmised Ohio State might get a pass for the adverse weather.
