Doug Lesmerises, Nathan Baird and Stephen Means created their own Big Ten fan satisfaction rankings for each of the 14 schools, combining how good the schools are at football and men’s basketball and how much fans care about each of the two programs. The formula is this: Each school was broken into two percentages that equal 100 to show how much football matters at that school compared to men’s basketball. A school might be an even 50-50, or it might be 90 football and 10 men’s basketball, or 75 men’s basketball and 25 football.
