With everything at stake, second-half collapse dooms Ohio State in 45-23 loss to Michigan

Michigan even planted its flag inside Ohio Stadium’s Block O. That was the final stake the No. 3 Wolverines put through Ohio State’s heart Saturday after their stunning 45-23 victory over the No. 2 Buckeyes. But it was one of many. Gone for Ohio State (11-1, 8-1 Big Ten) is a chance for a conference championship. Michigan (12-0, 9-0) will play Purdue for that next week in Indianapolis. Probably gone is a berth in the College Football Playoff. The Buckeyes will be given consideration if other contenders falter, but Saturday might be an insurmountable blight on their resume.
