No. 4 Ohio State surges past No. 18 Louisville, wins 96-77

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The last time No. 4 Ohio State faced a ranked opponent, it trailed by eight points at halftime before winning by 12. That was the Buckeyes’ season-opening win over then-No. 5 Tennessee, and Wednesday night at the KFC Yum Center in Louisville, their matchup against No. 18 Louisville followed nearly the same pattern. Ohio State struggled to get into a rhythm early in the game, turning the ball over an uncharacteristic 12 times in the first half, but the Buckeyes kept themselves just close enough to have a chance. They took their first lead of the game late in the third quarter and found their flow from there, scoring 31 points in the fourth quarter to win 96-77.
