Did Rutgers get screwed? Ohio State stepped out of bounds on game-winner, video appears to show


An on-court angle of Ohio State’s controversial game-winning play against Rutgers on Thursday night has surfaced, and it appears to validate Scarlet Knights’ coach Steve Pikiell’s belief that a Buckeyes guard stepped out of bounds. The video from SLAM Magazine, which can be seen here, appears to show Bruce Thornton’s right foot stepping on the sideline before he makes the pass to Tanner Holden, who hit the game-winning three-pointer as time expired to give Ohio State a dramatic 67-66 victory at Value City Arena. The broadcast view of the play, which can be seen here, also shows Holden stepping out of bounds before receiving the pass and taking the shot.
