Caleb Williams wins Heisman over Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud, other finalists

Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud has missed out on the Heisman for the second straight year, this time to Caleb Williams of USC. Stroud was the frontrunner for the bronze statue for most of the season but threw two interceptions and couldn’t lead his team to a win in a massive matchup against Michigan with the whole world watching. Statistically speaking, Stroud didn’t have as good of a year as last season in which he was also a Heisman finalist. Still, he was invited to New York this season with another shot, the first Buckeye to make it as a Heisman finalist twice in the history of the program. The Ohio State quarterback finished third in the Heisman voting behind Williams and TCU quarterback Max Duggan. Georgia’s Stetson Bennett finished fourth.
