'It's a great group.' Despite NIL obstacles, Ohio State football signs No. 5-ranked class

Ohio State might not have surged through the finish line for its 2023 recruiting class, but Buckeyes coach Ryan Day was clearly in a half-glass-full mood on early signing day Wednesday. The Buckeyes entered the day with 20 commitments and were in contention for two elite defensive ends. They didn’t land either of those, and four-star cornerback Kayin Lee became the fifth Ohio State pledge this recruiting cycle to flip when he signed with Auburn. Safety Jayden Bonsu was the only Ohio State commitment who had not signed as of mid-day.
