ATLANTA — Three observations from Ohio State football’s 42-41 loss to Georgia in the Peach Bowl playoff semifinal on Saturday. 1. When the kick that could have made Noah Ruggles a Buckeye legend spun out wide left of the uprights, the placekicker reached down to pull holder Jesse Mirco up from his knees. Ruggles slapped his teammate on the shoulder pads offering consolation to one of the other integral members of OSU’s field goal operation. Soon, teammates came over to share the same with Ruggles. “I just love this guy, and that’s all I have to say about it,” Mirco, also OSU’s punter, said of Ruggles as they left the Mercedes-Benz locker room together.
