COLUMBUS, Ohio — Temperatures were climbing towards the mid-60s in West Monroe, Louisiana, on Thursday as Vic Cutler packed for his new life with Ohio State football. It had been about 25 degrees colder in Columbus a day earlier, when Cutler wrapped up an official visit and committed to the Buckeyes as a transfer from Louisiana Monroe. This is the first way in which Cutler differs from the usual player OSU pull from the south. The Detroit native not only tolerates the cold, he welcomes it. On that visit, he also learned to tell people he is originally from “That state up north.” Cutler was only 11 when his father, a Chase bank employee, was relocated to Louisiana.
