Michigan basketball loses heartbreaker to Ohio State in Big Ten quarterfinal


Michigan’s run in the Big Ten women’s basketball tournament has come to an end in heartbreaking fashion. The fifth-seeded Wolverines had a chance to tie No. 4 seed Ohio State in the final seconds of Friday’s quarterfinal matchup in Minneapolis, but leading scorer Leigha Brown wasn’t able to get off a clean shot on either of her two attempts. OSU, ranked No. 14 in the Associated Press Top 25 poll, held on to win 81-79 and advances to face top-seeded Indiana, while No. 17 Michigan will now wait for its NCAA Tournament seed during the March 12 selection show.
