Ohio State hockey beats Penn State in Game 1 of Big Ten Tournament quarterfinal

There are a lot of Ohio State teams in tournament action this weekend, and one of them is the men’s hockey team. The Buckeyes made it into the Big Ten Hockey Tournament as the No. 3 seed and are hosting No. 6 seed Penn State in a best-of-three-game series for the right to advance to the semifinals. Game One was Friday night at the Schottenstein Center, and so far so good. Ohio State made quick and easy work of the Nittany Lions, cruising to a 5-1 victory to put Penn State in a must-win situation Saturday. The Buckeyes scored the first four goals of the contest starting with David Burnside finding the back of the net off of a nifty feed from Stephen Halliday just under five minutes into the contest.
