© Provided by Buckeyes Now on FanNation Ruck’s seamless five innings gave her the first perfect game in 16 years for the Buckeyes during the opening day of the Beach Chicken Brawl tournament. Ohio State junior pitcher Emily Ruck allowed no hits or runs Friday as the Buckeyes softball team defeated Canisius in five innings, 8-0. Ruck’s perfect performance was the first for the Buckeyes since Jamee Juarez in 2007 against IUPUI. Additionally, this was Ruck’s second no-hitter of her career, keeping the plate cool previously on March 13, 2022 against the UMass. The game last year against UMass also featured 11 strikeouts for Ruck, a career high which was bested by her 12 K’s against Canisius on Friday.
