Hey, 440: I think it’s a fair assumption to make that unless the top-100 defensive recruit is from Ohio or has strong Ohio ties, things will always be slow for that side until shown otherwise with Ryan Day as head coach. Cody Simon was the only person who qualified as such in 2020, and he didn’t commit until the end of June 2019. The 2021 class was the outlier, with guys coming along earlier thanks to Jack Sawyer, Reid Carrico and Mike Hall Jr. being in-state kids.
