Ohio State bid for repeat women's hockey national title falls short with loss to Wisconsin

Ohio State’s bid for a second consecutive national championship in women’s hockey fell short when the Buckeyes lost to Wisconsin 1-0 in the title game on Sunday. Wisconsin’s goal was scored in the first period by Kirsten Simms on an assist by Claire Enright. It was the Badgers’ seventh national title. Ohio State had beaten Northeastern 3-0 in a semifinal on Friday while the Badgers topped Minnesota 3-2. During the regular season, Ohio State was 3-1 against Wisconsin, winning by scores of 2-1, 5-0 and 3-1 and losing 6-5 in overtime. This story will be updated.
