What’s up with Reid Carrico as he pushes to carve out a role as a third-year Ohio State linebacker?


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Five years into the Ryan Day era at Ohio State and its linebacker room is still having the same discussion it was when his time started. There’s been a constant dialogue of whether the Buckeyes should lean into their young talent, many of which have highly-touted recruiting profiles, or stick with the older experienced guys. Often that conversation is about guys like Baron Browning and C.J. Hicks as five stars entering their second year in the program ready to contribute even if the guy ahead of them has been solid in the role. Then there’s Reid Carrico, a former top 100 recruit in his own right coming into his third year in the program.
