
NEW ORLEANS – Former Ohio State basketball standout E.J. Liddell has agreed to a multi-year contract with the NBA’s New Orleans Pelicans, the team announced Thursday. Liddell’s contract is for $6.2 million over three years, with a team option in the third year, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania. Liddell, 22, was drafted by the Pelicans in the second round (41st overall) of the 2022 NBA Draft. The 6-foot-6, 240-pound forward missed his entire rookie NBA season with a torn ACL he suffered during his second NBA Summer League game in July 2022. The former Buckeyes star lettered three seasons at Ohio State from 2019-22, appearing in 92 games and starting all 61 games during his sophomore and junior campaigns.
