The Ohio State football team will kick off its 2023 season opener against the Youngstown State Penguins at noon today. Although most people are commenting or laughing at the fact Ohio State is playing a lower-level, FCS opponent, there are some pretty cool connections between the two Ohio universities. Youngstown State has been a frequent transfer destination for some former Ohio State Buckeyes including Marcus Hooker, who is the starting safety for the Penguins this season. Hooker transferred to Youngstown State last spring along with former walk-on receiver, Blaize Exline.
