Ohio State veteran linebacker announces he’ll return for 2024 season

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State linebacker Cody Simon will return for the 2024 season, he told reporters on Tuesday. The four-year linebacker had 45 tackles this season, and saw time against run-heavy teams when the Buckeyes used three linebackers. In most situations, he was behind Steele Chambers and Tommy Eichenberg. “I talked with my family a lot, and I’m going to stay for another year,” Simon said. “I’m really happy with my decision. It was a lot of talking with my family, but I’m happy with it.” With Simon back in the mix, he can likely be penciled in as a starter with whoever returns in the linebacking corps.
