
Rutgers basketball’s most recent game against Ohio State in Columbus came down to the last second and ended in controversial fashion. The next meeting in Piscataway went to overtime, saw 22 lead changes and ended in a four-point Rutgers win. The last three contests between the Scarlet Knights and the Buckeyes were decided by six points or less. And while it took a while to arrive, there was plenty of suspense on Wednesday night. The Scarlet Knights made a second-half surge after seemingly getting buried by the Buckeyes early, but they were unable to complete the 17-point comeback, suffering a 76-72 loss at Value City Arena. Rutgers (8-5, 0-2) is now 0-8 all-time against Ohio State in Columbus, 0-5 this season in Quadrant 1 games and off to its first 0-2 start to Big Ten play since the 2018-19 season.
