Former Ohio State, Grand Rapids Christian hoops star signed by New York Knicks


GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Duane Washington Jr. is heading back to the NBA. The former Grand Rapids Christian star and Ohio State Buckeye signed a two-way contract Wednesday with the New York Knicks after a strong run with the team’s G League-affiliated Westchester Knicks, in which he averaged 27.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 6.3 assists, while shooting 42 percent from 3-point range and 59 percent from the field in three games. The 6-foot-2 point guard will be able to play for New York and Westchester under the two-way contract, which pays players one salary for their time in both leagues. NBA teams can have up to three players under two-way contracts, and those players can participate in up to 50 NBA games each season.
