Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer is widely considered to be a great college football recruiter, and his two national championships at Florida make it easy to call him a great coach. But is the man the Buckeyes now call coach a legend?
According to quotes via Bill Kurelic of 247Sports.com, 2014 4-star running back Derrell Scott certainly thinks Meyer is a legend:
“I watched a little of their game (against Miami of Ohio) on TV.” Scott said. “Ohio State has a good team. I liked their offense. I really like what coach (Urban) Meyer is doing. He’s a legendary coach. He knows what it takes to win and get players to the next level.”
Withers is recruiting Scott, but Meyer is involved too.
“I talked to coach Meyer in the summer,” Scott said. “He told me he wants me to come there and we can win a National Championship together. I’ve never been to Ohio State. I plan to get there sometime.”
