It’s what every football player strives for in their football career and the Ohio State Buckeyes achieved that in January and have now received the coveted Championship ring.The Buckeyes had a rough start to the 2014 season, quarterback Braxton Miller would suffer a season ending injury before the season began. The team would turn to red-shirt Freshman J.T. Barrett as the No. 1 signal caller. Barrett would be only the fifth freshman, true or red shirt to start a game at quarterback for Ohio State in the modern era. The Buckeyes would lose Barrett for the rest of the year in the game against Michigan, in comes Cardale Jones, he would finish the game against Michigan with a win. Jones would take the football world by storm by leading the Buckeyes to a 59-0 victory over Wisconsin in the Big Ten Championship, enough for them to receive the No. 4 seed in the first ever College Football Playoffs. The Buckeyes would defeat No. 1 seed Alabama 42-35. Running back Ezekiel Elliott would come through huge for the Buckeyes by having his greatest games in the playoffs. Elliott would rush for 230 yards and two touchdowns against Alabama. Elliott would out do himself in the Championship game against Oregon by rushing for 246 yards and four touchdowns in a 42-20 victory. The Buckeyes won their first Championship title since 2002.
