Ohio State Fair features butter sculpture tribute to Buckeyes

The Ohio State Fair has a unique one for their home-state college football national champion Buckeyes — a butter sculpture. It took five sculptors, 500 hours of work and 2,000 pounts of butter, and the finished product included life-size likenesses of Urban Meyer and mascot Brutus Buckeye, as well as a huge College Football Playoff trophy and helmet. It will be on display July 29-Aug. 9 at the Ohio State Fair. As much fun as the the sculptors had creating the butter art, the pun-loving writer of the press release from the American Dairy Association seemed to have just as much: “The Ohio State Buckeyes carved out a spot in history after winning the first-ever College Football Playoffs in January, and now the team is getting even BUTTER. To celebrate the legen-dairy Buckeyes, sculptors created a life-sized replica of head coach Urban Meyer and mascot Brutus – made entirely out of butter.” Check out more of the buzz around the butter, as Ohio State paid a visit for the unveiling:
