Ohio State begins practice for 2015 season

COLUMBUS — Ohio State’s freshman football players ran out of the Woody Hayes Athletic Center at 8:35 a.m. Monday. The 2015 season for the Buckeyes began with the freshmen getting a full practice to themselves.

Dozens of members of the media watched the first hour as the coaches worked with the players on fundamentals and conditioning.

Robert Landers, a freshman defensive lineman from Wayne High School, and walk-on senior defensive lineman Chris Fong, of Troy High School, were among the players at the first practice.

“Football position,” coach Urban Meyer repeated during one of several short speeches he gave. “I’m going to be insane about that today.”
