Ohio State has the best college football team, on paper, in the country. The Buckeyes are the defending national champions, have great coaches and possess so much talent that it’s almost an embarrassment of riches — at quarterback alone.
That’s why I ranked Ohio State No. 1 on my preseason ballot for the Associated Press.
I’m not alone. I was one of 61 media members to rank Ohio State No. 1 in the poll, which was released Sunday.
As far as Michigan State, I ranked the Spartans No. 6 (one spot below their overall poll ranking). The Spartans have a great program, great coaching, an experienced quarterback and tons of talent on the offensive and defensive lines.
