Two weeks into the 2015 college football season, the nation’s best players are performing as expected. TCU’s Trevone Boykin and Ohio State’s Ezekiel Elliott were considered the top two Heisman Trophy candidates in the preseason, and they remain there after playing in two games. Trevone Boykin is the slight favorite to win the award, helping TCU remain perfect in their first two games. He struggled somewhat in the Horned Frog’s opener against Minnesota, but he led his team to a 70-7 victory against Stephen F. Austin in the following week. Boykin has thrown for 531 yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions. Elliott has reached the century mark in both of the Buckeyes’ games, totaling 223 rushing yards on the year. He was much better in the opener, posting 122 yards on just 11 carries.
