College Rivals Come Together To Cheer Up Little Boy With Brain Cancer

Two of college’s most heated rivals put aside their differences for one night to spread some holiday cheer to a little boy who has taken a turn for the worse. Coaches for the Ohio State Buckeyes and Michigan Wolverines basketball teams came together to decorate the home of a 5-year-old boy diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer. In September 2014, Chad Carr was initially given about nine months to live. Doctors said the rare form of brain cancer was inoperable. Carr is the grandson of legendary former Michigan football coach Lloyd Carr. Recently, Chad’s condition worsened and he can no longer walk. His speech is sporadic and his breathing has taken a bad turn. His parents Tammi and Jason Carr decided to start hospice care this week for their son as doctors think the end is nearing. Representatives from both schools arranged to have Chad’s home decorated with Christmas lights, proving that even rivals can put aside their differences when their differences don’t really matter in the real world.
