Greg Schiano named Ohio State’s new defensive coordinator

The Ohio State Buckeyes didn’t take long to replace their recently departed defensive coordinator. According to multiple reports, the Buckeyes have hired Greg Schiano as defensive coordinator and associate head coach on Friday. The transition comes after former Buckeyes DC Chris Ash was formally introduced as the Rutgers’ head coach on Monday. Schiano also served as the Scarlet Knights’ head coach from 2001 to 2011, leading Rutgers to six bowl games and a 68-67 record. He was 56-33 in his final seven seasons with the team. Schiano’s last coaching stint was as head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. After going 11-21 in his first two seasons, Schiano was fired in 2013.
