Dwayne Haskins could flip to Ohio State according to some recruiting experts. With National Signing Day just a month and a half out, the race to land an elite quarterback for top programs around the nation is starting to pick up. One team still in search of a signal-caller for this year’s class is Ohio State, and coaching changes may have just slid the door open enough for Urban Meyer and his staff.Potomac, Md. prospect Dwayne Haskins has been high on Meyer’s big board, and despite his commitment to the Terrapins last May, Ohio State has not stopped its pursuit.Luckily for Meyer and the Buckeyes, Maryland fired head coach Randy Edsall, which could be exactly what OSU needed to get back in the hunt for Haskins. “He took an official visit to Ohio State this past weekend, and from what I have gathered from many of the already-committed OSU recruits that were there, it was like he fit in to the group just like he was one of the boys,” Rivals analyst Marc Givler told Tim May of The Columbus Dispatch. “What was important about that was it was the same weekend that Maryland was hosting most of its already-committed prospects for official visits. And instead of being there, of course, Haskins was at Ohio State.” Landing Haskins became more important this past weekend when Ohio State lost quarterback Tristen Wallace to Oregon. Because of Wallace’s defection, the Buckeyes have zero QBs currently committed in the 2016 class.But will Meyer be able to flip Haskins from his home-state team? Both Gilver and Ohio State football recruiting expert Bill Kurelic believe Haskins is now the Buckeyes to lose. “Ultimately, if they get Haskins here, and it sounds like they’re going to, it will have been well worth it,” Givler said. “It has not been conventional, certainly, how it has come to this point. But if the result is them getting Dwayne Haskins — and this is a results-oriented business — then it doesn’t quite matter how they got to it.”“The Buckeyes have a very, very realistic chance of flipping him,” Kurelic stated confidentally. …
