Ohio State’s Fiesta Bowl matchup with Notre Dame is one of the most intriguing showdowns of the 2015-16 bowl season, and while it isn’t the playoff showdown either team was aiming for, it should provide plenty of fireworks.

Here are five bold predictions for the highly anticipated New Year’s Day clash.

Michael Thomas Will Eclipse 100 Yards Receiving

Ohio State’s passing attack has wavered between downright pedestrian to somewhat functional this year despite boasting two championship-caliber quarterbacks, four multiyear starters along the offensive line and a host of talent on the perimeter.

Michael Thomas, the Buckeyes’ best pass-catcher, has paced a passing attack that ranks 104th nationally, averaging a meager 187 yards per game. Thomas has only eclipsed the century mark twice this season—against Maryland and Rutgers—but the Buckeyes will make a huge leap during bowl preparations and come out firing.

Thomas will torch Notre Dame’s top-30 pass defense, hauling in seven catches for a season-high 120 yards and a touchdown.
