Ohio State was hoping to land a pair of defensive backs Monday night and came away with a commitment from Jordan Fuller from Old Tappan (Westwood, N.J.). Fuller, who was identified early as a Buckeyes target, is a four-star prospect who also was considering Michigan and Notre Dame. He had in-home visits with each program within the last week and also had official visits at each campus. Fuller, an Army All-American, is ranked as the No. 6 athlete in the Class of 2016 by the 247Sports Composite rankings and the No. 4 player in Nw Jersey. Ohio State might have benefited from the family’s relationship with new Buckeyes co-defensive coordinator Greg Schiano, who recruited Fuller’s older brother Devin when he was the Rutgers coach. Devin Fuller, a wide receiver, ended up picking UCLA, The Gatorade New Jersey Player of the Year, Fuller becomes the fifth Ohio State commitment in the secondary. The Buckeyes were unable to make it six when four-star cornerback Damar Hamlin of powerhouse Pittsburgh Central Catholic opted to stay home and selected Pitt.
