The Buckeyes coaching staff is in preliminary talks to host a satellite camp at Jacksonville University, though reports of an agreement are premature, an official told ESPN’s Jesse Temple. The satellite camp idea isn’t new to Ohio State, but external pressure from Big Ten East rival Michigan might make the satellite camp route more mandatory than it is optional this spring. The Wolverines, who are upping the ante on camp roadshows with spring practices in Florida, are scouring the country for wide receiver talent in the 2017 class. Detroit Cass Tech standout Donovan Peoples-Jones is a top priority for Michigan, but the staff is also looking in Connecticut, California and Texas for wideouts and tight ends, according to Tim Sullivan of the Detroit Free Press. Elsewhere, Illinois hires an athletic director who has a big job ahead of him, and Michigan is expected to lose defensive backs coach Greg Jackson to the Dallas Cowboys. Michigan State’s Connor Cook is a “red flag” player in the NFL draft, and Rutgers veteran linebackers talk about the young players coming in behind them.
