College football coaches are often given more credit than anyone else in the business when it comes to accumulated success through bowl games, recruiting, and obviously championships (conference and national). In my humble opinion, I would say that coaches in college football are given more credit than any other sporting coach at the collegiate or professional level. The stigma behind college football is that these coaches mold a bunch of kids into what they become whereas when coaches in the NFL find success it is because they have good players. A primary example of this can be seen with the New England Patriots’ legendary coach Bill Belichick and how the biggest thing you hear about him is that if he didn’t have Tom Brady he would have never become anything more than an average coach. All of this aside, with college football having over 120 teams now, I figured now would be as good a time as ever to dive deep into the best college football coaches heading into the 2016 football season. Greatness cannot be measured by statistics, so obviously it is likely a matter of opinion more than fact and that is something to keep in mind.
