Ohio State is using Tim Tebow as a recruiting prop

Year in and year out, the Ohio State Buckeyes land some of the top recruits in the nation. Recruiting hasn’t been an issue for the Big Ten powerhouse in quite some time, but that hasn’t stopped them from going all out to bring talented players to Columbus. The Buckeyes’ latest attempt involves a former Florida Gator, strangely enough. And he goes by the name of Tim Tebow. Ohio State tweeted out a photo of Tebow with a quote from him on his former head coach Urban Meyer.  The connection might seem strange, given the fact that Tebow was a dominant force at Florida — one that even beat Ohio State in the 2007 national championship. But is has to do with Tebow’s relationship with Meyer, who was his coach at Florida.  While it may seem strange to use the player who defeated your school for a title as a recruiting tool, there’s no doubting Tebow’s pull and power. He was not only a favorite amongst Gators fans during his playing days, but he was loved by most upon reaching the NFL.
