The Ohio State Buckeyes are finally JT Barrett's team


On a team with only six total returning starters, it’s obvious that experience will be scarce to begin the 2016 season for the Ohio State Buckeyes. This is not going to be a concern with redshirt junior quarterback J.T. Barrett, who will see significant action for the third straight season. What is going to be new for Barrett and the Buckeyes is that Barrett will enter the season as the unquestioned starter for the first time in his already accolade filled college career. In 2014–the Buckeyes’ championship season–Barrett began the season as the starter, but only because an injury to all-everything quarterback Braxton Miller. Barrett relished in his role as the OSU starting quarterback in 2014, leading the team to a 12-1 record and winning the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year Award. He suffered a broken ankle in the Buckeye’s final regular season game against Michigan, which paved the way for Cardale Jones to take over and lead the Bucks to an improbable College Football Playoff Championship.
