Ohio State Football: Buckeyes must learn to withstand the elements

The Buckeyes overcame a sluggish start and an extended weather delay on Saturday to beat Tulsa 48-3. Up 20-3 at halftime, the Buckeyes had only amassed 138 yards of offense; 318 yards and five touchdowns less than last week vs. Bowling Green. Granted, Tulsa’s defense played well, especially their defensive line, but one can’t help but blame the inclement weather for the majority of the Buckeyes’ offensive struggles. Tulsa quickly recognized the Buckeyes’ vanilla play calling, loading the box and stuffing freshman running back Mike Weber seemingly every carry. Much like Barrett’s first half production, Weber ended the second quarter with just 46 yards on 8 carries. Safety Malik Hooker (24), along with cornerback Marshon Lattimore (not pictured) returned an interception for a touchdown against Tulsa.
