COLUMBUS, Ohio — I’m about to hedge so hard on my College Football Playoff picks that the screen on your phone or computer might crack. Give me a half. Give me one half of Ohio State’s opener at Indiana on Thursday night, and I might believe that the Buckeyes are going to win the National Championship. This defense should be excellent, with deep talent on the line to harass quarterbacks; quick, smart, veteran linebackers to chase down running backs; and speedy secondary members who might need a little seasoning but should be able to hang with receivers. The offense? Let me see the passing game for 30 minutes. That’s it. Because if that works, well, what else is there?
