Ohio State to face Alabama for national title: Tim Bielik's College Football Playoff picks 2017

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Welcome to Year 4 of the College Football Playoff. Three different teams have claimed the national championship in this new era of football. Who takes number four? I’ve got two prior national champions, Alabama and Ohio State, claiming the top two spots in this year’s playoff. USC has the No. 3 seed, setting up a classic Rose Bowl matchup. The final seed is Florida State, which means it will face Alabama in a rematch of their season opener on Saturday. Alabama, Ohio State and Florida State look like the consensus top three with everyone fighting for the fourth spot. But because I think Alabama will beat FSU on Saturday, the Seminoles slot into the No. 4 seed and the Trojans and Heisman Trophy contender Sam Darnold take the No. 3 seed.
