Ohio State has added former Washington State defensive coordinator Alex Grinch to its coaching staff. The hiring had been rumored for weeks, and OSU made it official through a statement. Grinch, who will likely serve as the Buckeyes’ co-defensive coordinator, is from Grove City, Ohio, and played college football at Mount Union in Alliance, Ohio. He spent three seasons as the DC at WSU (2015-17). Under his guidance, the Cougars had the No. 16 total defense in the country in 2017. That is a long way from the No. 97 total defense they had the year before Grinch was hired.
