COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State is No. 6 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings announced Tuesday, one spot behind the No. 5 Oklahoma Sooners in what may shape up as the race for the final playoff spot on Sunday. That’s not great news for the Buckeyes. No. 4 Georgia plays No. 1 Alabama in the SEC Championship, and most are assuming the Bulldogs will lose to the team that has led the playoff race all season. If so, the final spot should come down to Ohio State and Oklahoma if those teams win the Big Ten and Big 12 titles. The Buckeyes will enter that race trailing the Sooners. Oklahoma is playing No. 14 Texas while Ohio State is playing No. 21 Northwestern.
