Well, what a difference a week makes. Seven days ago, most of the college football world — including a lot of Buckeye Nation — seemed comfortable with Ohio State being jumped by the UCF Knights for ninth in the College Football Playoff rankings. However, seven days later, the Ohio State Buckeyes are up to No. 6 in the penultimate rankings with just the Big Ten Championship Game left on their schedule. Unsurprisingly, the top three remained unchanged with No. 1 Alabama, No. 2 Clemson, and No. 3 Notre Dame. However, the Georgia Bulldogs took the fourth spot following OSU’s demolition of former No. 4 Michigan. Also ahead of the Buckeyes were the Oklahoma Sooners at No. 5.
