Ohio State’s Mike Weber headed to NFL after Rose Bowl

After three seasons in Columbus, Mike Weber is headed to the NFL. The former Detroit Cass Tech star announced Sunday night he’s leaving Ohio State, but not before playing for the Buckeyes in the Rose Bowl against Washington. Weber has shared time the past two seasons with J.K. Dobbins in the Ohio State backfield, but leaves having rushed for more than 2,500 yards and 24 touchdowns in his career. Weber rushed for 1,096 yards as a freshman in 2018, but his production dipped with Dobbins’ emergence. Dobbins has topped 1,000 yards rushing the past two seasons. While also battling some health issues, Weber received double-digit carries in just six of Ohio State’s 13 games in 2018. Ohio State defensive end Dre’Mont Jones also has already declared for the NFL, but the real spotlight remains on quarterback Dwayne Haskins and what he will decide to do as a projected first-round pick.…
