Ohio State had its first semester commencement ceremony on Sunday to celebrate those graduating from the university. Eleven members of the Buckeye football program received their degrees. The list includes defensive tackle Dre’Mont Jones, H-Back Parris Campbell and wide receiver Johnnie Dixon. Jones is a fourth-year junior who received his bachelor’s degree in sociology. Jones came to Ohio State as the 10th ranked strongside defensive end in the 2015 recruiting class according to the 247Sports Composite out of Cleveland. He redshirted his first year on campus before becoming a starter at defensive tackle for the Scarlet and Gray in 2016, starting 12 games and recording 51 total tackles and four tackles for a loss. Over the last two seasons, Jones really emerged as a star, recording 60 total tackles, 18 combined tackles for a loss and 9.5 sacks and was named third-team All-Big Ten in 2017.
