Ohio State has no answer when Kaleb Wesson isn't scoring

Kaleb Wesson is a marked man. The Ohio State sophomore center is quickly learning what it’s like to be the guy on a Big Ten basketball team. As a freshman last year, Wesson obviously had talent but he could be one of the guys on the Buckeyes with the likes of Keita Bates-Diop and Jae’Sean Tate doing much of the heavy lifting. This year, with both players gone, Wesson has to shoulder a bigger load and leads the Scarlet and Gray in scoring (16.2 points per game) and rebounding (6.9). As Wesson has succeeded this season, opposing teams have taken notice. “I think teams are clearly going at him maybe more so,” head coach Chris Holtmann said of Wesson on Thursday. ” I think also they’re attacking him because I think they have an understanding of how important he is for this particular group.” Early in the year, this wasn’t…
