Former Ohio State player D’Angelo Russell selected for 2019 NBA All-Star game

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The last time an Ohio State basketball player was selected to play in the NBA All-Star game was in 2004. That season Michael Redd — who played for the Buckeyes from 1997-2000 — averaged 21.7 points per game for the Milwaukee Bucks. Now D’Angelo Russell of the Brooklyn Nets adds his name to the list of former Ohio State players to make the All-Star team when it was announced that he would replace an injured Victor Oladipo. The fourth-year guard currently averaging 19.6 points and 6.4 assists per game for the Nets who are sixth in the eastern conference.
