COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State followed up its first win in 29 days with a double-digit loss to No. 5 Michigan. Despite the clear difference in talent between the two teams the one thing that stood out with the Buckeyes was their lack of consistent play. That’s become head coach Chris Holtmann’s expectation for a team featuring seven freshmen and sophomores. He doesn’t want it to be an excuse for the Buckeyes’ 1-6 month, but he does realize that it’s a reality. “What I’m trying to find is do we have a consistency of effort and purpose in how we play,” Holtmann said. “If we have consistency in effort and how we play, then I think I’ll be alright with whatever the results are.” Having that realization doesn’t mean it’s made him any more patient with the development process.
